MyWikis wikis run on MediaWiki, a highly extensible wiki platform created by the Wikimedia Foundation, the nonprofit that runs Wikipedia. At MyWikis, our emphasis on customization means we'll handle the backend changes you request for you! You won't need to touch any backend code—we'll take care of it.
In most cases, backend changes can certainly be made for you by our support team. In a few cases, clients like to access their wiki's backend to make some extensive changes. This is permitted on our VPS plans - please let our support team know if you would like access to it. We provide jail SSH access to any client on a VPS plan. We encourage clients to contact our support team to make changes to their wiki whenever possible, unless they want to develop their own custom changes to their wiki that are not available for installation anywhere.
We can also upgrade your wiki to a VPS plan if you are not currently on a VPS plan but would like to edit your backend.
Important note: by gaining access to your wiki's backend, you agree to not hold MyWikis liable to resolving any errors that may arise from editing your wiki backend yourself. In other words, our support team can't assist with any issues that might arise from editing your wiki's backend yourself. This is why we encourage clients to contact us to make changes whenever possible.
